Why do you have a van? What's it's purpose?

I bought my '86 E-350 Extended for the purpose of converting it into a camper and to carry my '08 Harley Nighster around, and of course to use as a shed when needed.

Bought my 1998 E150 markiii conversion for a comfortable van to take my daughter to doctors offices a couple hours away and other places.
It's got a lowered floor and S series Ricon wheelchair lift in it.

Funny you asked that question,

I was just looking the the forum photo gallery of a 2013 F-150 with a "cap" added and was thinking nice truck, but if you add a top, seems better to get a E250 or E350.
My 98 club 135k van is a 8P mild custom poor man's luxury

Just two days ago I saw a nice Ford pickup truck with a very nice aftermarket enclosure for the bed- I'm sure you've all seen something similar but I can't find the words: but it literally had a door at the back for a person to walk in (kneel, actually) and acces their tools/supplies.

I estimate this was a $5,000 accessory on the $15-25K truck...

JUST GET A VAN!!!!!

Too cold to have fun in the back of a pickup.

Vans are good for so many things, albeit not for shot, for making dump runs and hauling bark dust, dirt etc.

I have a van and a pickup, so I can have the most versatility.

The E-350 van is easier to drive, than the F-250 Super Duty.

Pickup trucks are handy if you need to carry gravel, firewood, or manure. I've had big vans since 1986 because they make much more sense than pickups for bicycles, musical instruments, furniture, passengers, etc.... (I had a pickup from 1978-86 and did carry gravel in it twice, firewood a few times, manure never.)

got mine for a combination job.

pulls my flatbed trailer with ease, hauls wife and kids everywhere with space to spare, works as a camper when we configure the seating properly.

sold my supercab dually diesel pickup when I got it, to small for the whole family.

also allows me to make a truck search and buy mission into a weekend/day trip with the family

Actually, it has been a standing joke of mine that I keep our van in case I lose everything including my house. I can at least live in my van.

My wife and I have camped in the vans for a week at a time over the years but our first 2 vans were Turtle Top camper conversions. Great home base for our bicycling family.

I once found a forum for people living in their vans. Tips and tricks of avoiding getting caught, ways to park and avoid trespassing violations, one full thread of house to make a cab divider sheet that makes (at first glance) it look like the back of the van is empty, so police/security guards pass by...

Crazy stuff. An entire forum. Can't remember the name.

Strangely appealing to me though.

I have also browsed those forums. Strangely appealing until it's winter in Michigan
