I am wanting to paint my original engine the original colors. I found online where it says it was originally Yellow and Argent. I can see the yellow color under all the grout but I am not sure what the Argent should look like or what shade of yellow to get to paint it does anyone have any pictures they can share

First of all welcome to FTE, the best Ford Truck forum out there.
Second, you have to show us pictures of your truck.
Third, Yes the 55 239 Y-block and also the 6 cylinder were painted yellow. The Valve covers were argent (silver). The other things like air cleaner, generator, starter were black. The tranny was the engine color.
I will be able to show some pics later when I am at my PC.

Thanks alot!!!
These pics help me out a lot. I will post some pics. I have another question. My data tag has an X for paint color which from everything I have read indicates Regatta Blue. Although it wasn't a truck paint color for 1955 it could be special ordered. My fire wall is blue. But doesn't look like the REGATTA blue on the Ford paint pallets. However the color of 1955 regatta blue cars. I believe its the fairlane that color was meant for seems identical to my fire wall. Does anyone have pics of a Regatta blue 1955 F 100?

You click on the mountain scene icon. (I highlighted it red.)
That will pop up a window that allows you to enter a url, browse your computer to the picture file, or drag and drop a picture. I do the third option mostly.
I used Dupli-Color Daytona Yellow, that is very close to original color.
Now, practice posting pictures. We love pictures.
Here is my engine. I painted the valve covers black before I new what they were supposed to be. I don't know if I will keep them black or repaint argent.

Engine Paint Colors
From a post on FTE year 200 Sixoh did a bunch of research and concluded the 55 engine color to be red.
My truck is original and straight off the original owner's farm. The engine is red and the valve covers are black. I did, however seen remnants of yellow on the very front part of the transmission.
I would be curious to know for sure what the 239 color is but I am going red as I just can't fathom looking at a yellow engine after all the work I'm doing to make it "purdy"!

1955 engines are YELLOW from the factory in the f100-f600 trucks
Here do some reading as this brochure shows a pic of the engines
