2000 v10 ex intermittent stall at startup

am experiencing a stall at startup
the truck will start for a second and stall out. I check the fuel rail no gas
turn the key to run and off 4 times then it starts and runs fine
had problem for 3 years now. When i say intermittent i mean maybe 10 times a year.
hot cold dont matter.
any ideas im stumped
o ya i know of 2 other trucks doing the same thing.

Check the fuel pressure at the rail. There is a schrader valve on the passenger side. When was the last maintenance completed? Also check the PCV elbow under the throttle body these are known to leak.

If there's no pressure at the fuel rail, next time it happens, tap the gas tank with a 2x4. If it starts right up, it could be the fuel pump.

Also, check the fuel pump relay. If you do wind up replacing the fuel pump, replace the fuel pump relay as well.

This sounds spot on with the fuel pump. They have been known to go with the gas we have now a days. Never heard the 2x4 trick will have to remeber that.

isn't that fuel pressure kinda low?? I remember seeing more pressure when I testd my truck but not sure on what it was.

my truck did the same things, start then stall, wait a few seconds and it would start and run fine over and over. then one day bang, crank no start. there was no beating on tank to start it. it was dead. pump change out and runs good.

has not did this since pump change.

all data states KOEO test 35-45 psi
KOER test 28-45 psi.

I wana say mine was running closer to 48-50 but my gauge might be a tick off after years and years of use in shop.
