Sounds like there is a power lead that's grounded---double check your wiring.

Was your truck originally equipped with remote keyless entry from the factory or not?

The interface with an aftermarket RKE is completely different between the factory RKE system and the basic PDL system.

If factory RKE, all you need is a negative pulse on the lock or unlock inputs of the VSM. If basic PDL, then you need the relay arrangement that will directly control the actuator motors.

Very true! My aftermarket alarm installation required me to tap into the lock & unlock wiring at the RKE module, more accurately just slightly behind the wiring harness connectors to the RKE.

The circuit/relay wiring OP shows is one I've used more than a few times as a secondary or remote trigger for factory PDL's.

Oh yeah---I think in the trade those are called "double 87's"---I had to source a few of them for another project, saved me from having to use two relays for the same function.

Glad that was all it was----paying close attention to small details like this sometimes trips us up----I run into it myself more than I like admitting.
