It is true that the 3.5 Ecoboost is a potent little package. The generation that will be going in the new Ford GT was developed by Roush/Yates Engines in partnership with Ford Racing for the Daytona Prototype class of the now IMSA TUDOR racing series. They boys at Roush/Yates Engines personally told me, that IMSA would only let them "dial in" 600 HP to the tune....but that they ( Roush/Yates ) had dyno tested it reliably much higher than that. The new 3.5 Ecoboost in the Raptor is said by Ford to have more HP and torque than the 6.2.....so I'm going to guess that the Ecoboost in the new Raptor will come in with at least 450 HP...maybe a bit higher and 440 torque.

There are a ton of clips on youtube. 2012 F150 EcoBoost STOCK VS ROUSH VS HEARTTHROB - YouTube I'm not endorsing any of these. The issue with any turbo is that the exhaust is always muffled by the turbos themselves so they end up sounding like a turbo only louder. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I agree. I love the torque curve of the turbo motor, and I probably won't be going back. My only complaint as well is the sound of the V6. I just wish Ford would have produced a V8 Ecoboost for their trucks and the Mustang. The 3.5 is proving that it doesn't need to be a high displacement V8, so something in the 3.5 to 4.0 liter range as a V8 ecoboost would have me trading in my '13 in an instant.

If the Raptor ends up having EFR turbos, then look out.....

The Ford GT has EFR turbos on it. They are seriously dialing back the power to keep it as low as 600Hp. That is an 850Hp set of turbos on the engine. I'm guessing GT owners will be able to fix that 600Hp flaw with a $400 tuner.

Well I do like the large tow hooks in the rear. What I don't like the the insane amount of plastic on the outside of the truck. If one is going to take it in the woods for deer hunting and hits a tree just right, its going to shatter and will be expensive to fix. Going to need a brush guard or large steel front bumper to protect it. I'll predict that starting price is going to be $47,500 up to $70,000 with everything.
The truck doesn't sound like it'll have the ESOF for 4x4 and 2x4, almost be an active/inactive transfer case where it'll go in and out and transfer power to where its needed. Way more complication than I would like. Think a simple transfer case or making it a capable AWD truck would have been easier. I know its for standards.
Did anyone catch that the guy said that the new frame is a bit thicker than the current 2015 or did I hear that wrong?
