the quick answer is no.

the long and complicated answer is yes.

the realistic answer is doubtful, but possible; based on your driving conditions, driving style, tire size, modifications, trans configuration, and injection system condition.

You's don't think a 6.0 can get 20 mpg on the highway? My dads 2000 7.3 got 18.2 mpg on the highway (hand calculated) i don't see why a 6.0 with the better 5speed trans couldn't get 20

"Get" and "average" are the same in my book. It's kinda silly to say I get such and such on the highway and disregard average. It's like a politician pointing out one successful business, among a bunch of struggling businesses, and saying the economy is great.

That said, with the right mods, conditions, trans config, driving style, tire size, condition of injection compoments its still possible...but not easy.

2004 f250 milage

I have a stock 2004 F250xl 6.0, 5sp. auto 156" WB and if I drive on the interstate at 60-65mph slowing some up hill and speeding up a little down hills I can get 20.5 mpg. This was driving on I81 through Virginia and Kentucky. This is a little like hyper-miling.

I agree. My buddy's got a 7.3 that gets 20. And it's lifted. I don't see why I couldn't get 20 on mine. I've been talkin to people and the conclusion I got is cold air intake, better exhaust, and programmer. I

You could do what ever you want but I would not touch the intake unless you want turbo issues down the road. The stock filter it great

For your thread title, I hope your "gas" mileage is ZERO...

But, for fuel economy, best thing to do is drive SLOOOOWER.

Realistically no......at a particular point in time, under ideal conditions (Road, Load, terrain, speed, temp and fuel quality ) possibly, but don't expect to see it when you hand calculate at the pump. I can't it happening over a tank full. I have done in the 17teens with my stock 6.0 and that's still 7 more per mile than I'm doing with my 5.4l gasser with the same gearing and the 6.0 will pull a house, while the 5.4l would have a tough job pulling a 'sick lady of the night of a slop jar' That's my story.... I thought I end with these before someone else did
