Retrofit install GPS/Navigation in Escape
Hey guys, I'm new here and looking for some help regarding a retrofit install of a nav unit in an Escape '12.
I got a used unit from an Expedition '12 and before buying the rest of the parts, I tested the unit in my Escape. It seems to work fine, except the volume from the radio is very low. Can this be fixed by a re-programming? Or do I need a separate amplifier? If an amplifier is needed, what is the OEM part number? I can't seem to find it.
Will the earlier GPS antenna (under the dashboard) work with this unit, or do I need the newer antenna which seems to have to be installed on the roof?
Is there anything else I need for the retrofit, besides the bezel trim for the nav?
Thanks in advance!
