Borg Warner T-10 questions

Hello I recently acquired a 71 F100 for fairly cheap. It has a 429 in its with a Borg Warner 4 speed manual transmission.
I was wondering if I am able to tow another vehicle on a trailer with that set up ?
And what performance parts I should look into getting ?
I'm looking for something able to Tow, drive well on interstate, and be able to drive it like I stole it ( if you know what I mean )
Thanks everyone

T 10? You sure? Is it a side-loaded box like this:

First gear could be in the mid to high 2's for ratio. Depending on your axle ratio, that could be a real clutch cooker with a heavy load on a hill.

Your 429 will have enough torque to do it, but it is far from ideal for towing.

If you really want to have a hot rod that tows and cruises easily on the interstate, you are probably looking at getting a 5 or 6 speed trans. That way, you can run a short gear out back, and use the overdrive(s) for the highway.

Performance parts? What do you know about your 429? Year? Rebuilt? As OEM, it could be a 10.5 CR motor. An intake and headers, plus a better cam would wake it up. Beyond that, heads, a 460 crank, rods, pistons, or a bigger inch stroker can be had. Just decide on how much you want to spend.

"Summit racing cam". Lumpy idle? Do you have any vacuum at idle?

Weiand Stealth--looking it up, it says it's a dual plane manifold, probably a good piece and appropriate for what you want.

780 CFM. OK. Vacuum secondaries?

What is your rear axle ratio?

You probably have almost as much power as the chassis will take, and I bet you are hurting for traction at anything over 1/4 throttle.

New brakes....disc front?

What size and type of tires?

Sounds like a lot of parts thrown into this thing. Why was it "fairly cheap"?

T10 is not gonna like big block torque in a fairly heavy truck.

It was fairly cheap because I traded my old daily driver ( 95 Civic Hatchback ) for it.. I paid 1500 for the Honda and the guy wanted something better on gas. So we traded straight out.. And all the questions I am mostly clueless on.. This will be my first older ford.. Actually first ford I've owned..
It still has Drum brakes all the way around. Which I planning to switch to disc brakes front and back.
Lumpy idle I don't really know what that means..
But the truck is a powerhouse.. I just want to make it able to tow and very reliable.
So all opinions and ideas on what to do with it are greatly appreciated.

Run it as-is for a while, see how it works.

Gotta think about this before any more comments....
