Did all 1951 Ford F1 pickups have door panels?

Your determination of which trucks had which emblem differs considerably from what we've collectively hashed out previously, Denny. The flat blue and red emblem that only says Magic Air has traditionally been called the 1951 emblem and the FORD Magic Air emblem with the raised lettering is the 1952 emblem. My truck, for instance, is a 1952 with a factory installed Magic Air heater and the raised emblem, but it wasn't a 5-Star Extra cab truck. I've never before heard of any correlation between which emblem the heater had and what trim package the truck was equipped with. Is there a resource that you have found this information in?

BOR , back in the day when the 1ST-RIDE was purchased from Grandpa ( a '52 ) the emblem was of plain variety on the Magic Air . He had a friend who also had a '52 w/ a magic Air. Same emblem . Last summer a 52 five star extra cab donated it's Magic Air w/ the raised letter emblem . It was removed from the cab in the salvage yard .Over the last seven yrs. of Magic Air heater restoration both '51 & '52 heaters have arrived with both styles of emblems .Removed a Magic Air heater from a '51 Oct. '13 in N. Wis. that had the embossed letters .Have yet to go back & remove the lighted control panel. Only difference between the two heaters is the core . A '51 tubes are 5 1/8 o.c. while the '52 is 3 1/8 o.c. Based the info on past acquisition experience in many salvage yards and the reception of dozens of Magic Air heaters from all over the N. U.S.

I don't think the 5 star cab vs. the 5 star extra cab had any influence on the emblem style. The 1951 heaters had the blue with red script and the 1952 heaters had raised script and FORD block letters.
You could have ordered a 5 star extra cab with no heater or just a standard recirculating heater. Same for the radios. You did not have to get a radio with a 5 star cab. Both of these options were available WITHOUT getting the 5 star extra cab. They were just accessories. So the cab package did not change the emblem.
Magic air heaters were shipped to the dealers for them to install. So we have to consider when the 1952 models debuted and the possibility of someone buying a '51 in late 1951 and wanting a magic air heater. The dealer could have been out of 1951 model heaters and installed a new 1952 heater in a '51 truck. The opposite was likely to happen. In a warmer climate the dealer could have had an overstock of 1951 heaters and continued to install them into 1952.
I see a lot of 48-50 model trucks with magic air heaters in them. It could have been a case where someone was tired of foggy windows and took their truck back to the dealer to have a heater installed and they received whatever was on the shelf.
The controls were different between 1951 and 1952 as well. The '51's were lit from behind and the '52's had decals. There were also some small changes in the duct work at the cab, but not visible from inside the cab.
Then you have to consider the badges and their vulnerability to getting damaged. One kick and they are trashed. At one point in time a '51 badge could have gotten replaced with a '52 badge and vice versa.

Firstrider,
My truck is a 51F1 with all the bells and whistles (sun-visors, arm rests, drivers and pass door locks, dome light and the chrome/stainless windshield trim) and going by your tube measurements of 5 1/8'' (slightly bent) the heater is a 51 model too. I checked it out with my battery charger switched to 6v and the motor seems to spin ok, need to get a radiator guy to look at the hose soldering though. Will look for a badge sometime. Thanks for the information.
