The door is different than the standard one. The hole is rectangular with rounded ends.

Here is the opening in a 55, the lock is the one in my earlier post of this post. Flat to flat is 19/32, oval to oval is 3/4

For the fellas that are thinking of drilling there glove box door to accept the lock/ **** assembly the body measures a tad under 5/8 side to side and 3/4 top to bottom.
