keep original or lower and restore???

Worth more? IMHO...restored. Value and profit don't always go hand in hand. If profit is what you're after keep it as is. You'll spend more money restoring and lowering it then the profit can support. To turn and burn it leave it alone. As long as it's safe. Like brakes and steering. Most here build them to fit their own taste. Not really caring about resale value.

I explained how to post pic's in your other thread.
We do like pic's and need to see lots of them to
help you decide. Most likely your truck ain't original
anymore anyway after this many years. But I do like
to keep them as close to original as we can get with
the standard safety upgrades. So post up pic's and
let us tell ya what we think.
Tell us what engine/trans and like that it has if any now.
A 69 is a cool ride for sure. Is it a ranger? If not you can
clone it int one with mostly junk yard parts.
Also under user cp at the top of the page please add your
location. There may well be folks in your area willing to help
with parts if nothing else.
Edit: We posted at the same time Jeff. Like minds and all that?

Welcome to FTE.
If your just flipping the truck, make it safe as Jeffafa said. That's steering, brakes, electrical and engine.
If you just gained custody of this truck, change all fluids, belts and bulbs.
If your going to keep it, then what do you want?
I suggest researching the forum on lowering and on restoring.
Start putting together a parts list. Then, get the cost of parts for each way.
After you have a list of parts and what it will cost to buy them add 20% because you'll other parts, trust me. On second thought add 40%
How much of the job can you do yourself? How much would it cost to farm it out?
So for now I say make it safe, drive it and enjoy it.

The definition of "restore," to me, means to return a vehicles appearance exactly to the way it was from the factory.
If you're going to lower it then, that is modifying and doesn't fit in with the term "restoring."
If the truck was bought as an 'investment,' it may be difficult to get more out of it than you have in it. It will largely depend on the condition of the truck, starting out, and what all will need to be done to it and the time and money that will have to be invested.
It also depends on the quality of work done and your craftsmanship/mechanical ability. The more you have to pay someone else to do the work, the less profit you will see.
If you've just bought the truck to build and enjoy, you can build it however suits you and the 'value' aspect really has no meaning. --I'm in this last category. I didn't buy for 'investment' reasons. I bought because I think this body style of Ford truck was the best looking body ever. I build my truck to suit me and couldn't care less what 'value' someone else may place on it.

As a colorado native I'm wheat ridge, I say don't frickin lower it. That was cool in the 90 ' s (if you wanna call it cool) keep it stock height and add other mods. Mine is gonna be a semi-circle interior with stock exterior except wheels and tires. I actually dislike how everyone thinks low is cool. Trucks aren't supposed to be 3" off the ground. Trucks are supposed to have ground clearance and look like trucks. It's your truck, but look around CO. There aren't lowered vehicles around here like in CA and NM, AZ. It snows here and we have awsome places to see that require a truck, not necessarily 4x4, as only 1 of my 3 trucks are 4x4, but having a truck to camp and fish and hunt and see the world. (My rant) anyway. Live colorado and glad to know I'm not the only coloradan on here.

Well unlike the above post stock is boring, unless it's a very low mileage survivor truck.
Unless you plan on driving around in a pasture, and through cow **** all the time the truck would look better lowered if done tastefully.
Then again I'm someone who has lowered literately hundreds of trucks throughout the years, and not some backwoods guy that prolly thinks camouflage is cool.................

I take that as a compliment (I think). FTE is the best truck forum around. There are a lot of knowledgeable guys here, some of which already posted to your question. We are a fun bunch and stay pretty level headed.

"Restored" vs "Restored Modified" vs "Custom"
Each can be equally valued.
IMO a well-executed, stock-looking but tasteflyy updated rig will usually bring in a higher value than a period-correct, period-equipped vehicle because of mechanical upgrades and convenience items which appeal to more buyers. There are things which add value like PS, PB, AC, EFI, and an overdrive trans...But it depends on the buyer.
In the end, ask yourself who you're doing it for - your own use and satisfaction or to appeal to a broad audience for profit-making purposes?
Here's my nearly $9,500 truck:
I ain't from the backwoods but it's all about **implementation**.
