14k is not bad at all. Don't go by KBB. The 7.3 is gold, and they undervalue it for some reason. I own an '01 with 155k, and it's in it's teenage years. I now have two close friends with X's well over 200 and 300k. They are operating just fine (2000 and 2001 respectively).

The 7.3 is the best workhorse I've ever had.

I just had my gears replaced and the guy at the shop asked me if I wanted to sell mine twice. I asked how much they were going for and he said $15k. Needless to say, I'm keeping my 02 7.3 4wd.

EPILOGUE -

First of all, let me thank everyone that responded, and also congratulate the person who purchased the truck. It was a beauty and I would expect that they will have a great experience with it.

Second, let me warn everyone about http://www.americautogroup.net. After accepting my price of $13,500, agreeing to take a $500 non-refundable holding deposit until the 24th, and me spending $230 on an inspection and one way non-refundable plane ticket, they sold it to a full price buyer and tore up my contract (they did tear up my check). They also were angry that I wouldn't pay $300 for a "documentation fee" that was never discussed. More than likely the buyer had no idea that there was a pending sale so no hard feelings to him.

$230 lesson learned.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Doesn't surprise me though. People are only out for themselves these days. It's very sad. Anyhow, to comment on the price, I would say it is a fair deal as well. I just saw a '01 7.3 4wd with 128k on the clock listed for 16,900 and it sold within 2 days.
