F450/550 6.0 or 6.4l

Hey Forum I need a little feed back. Looking to buy F450/550 to regularly tow 30k/35k lbs. Been out of the seen for a while, I know Ford had trouble with both diesels(6.0l, 6.4l). All in all what is the truth?
Your input will be greatly appreciated.
