1966 T850 Super Duty 534 Engine Paint Scheme

What is the engine paint scheme for a 534 cu in engine in a 1966 Ford T850 Super Duty?
Was it black for the engine and gold metallic for the valve covers? I know that it changed in cars in 1966 to corporate blue.

If you do an Advanced search for NumberDummy username and Corporate Blue he says this in many of the threads that come up. I assume a 534 would be no exception.

"Beginning in 1966, this confusing rigamarole was eliminated. ALL 1966 Passenger Car/Truck/Bronco/Econoline engines were painted Ford Corporate Blue...including the valve covers."

He's a sample thread.

Note he goes on to say this

"I've only seen one shade of Ford Corporate Blue. Autoparts stores seem to sell more than one shade. One is a pastel blue not used on any Ford engine.

Corp Blue is very close to this

It's not: this this or this "

1952/65: Ford painted the engine blocks one color, the valve covers another.

The valve covers were painted specific colors...as this was the way that FoMoCo identified engine sizes for garages/body shops.

But trucks could have the same colored valve covers as cars...for completely different engines! This confusing rigamarole "went away" in 1966.

For example: Black engine, gold valve covers: 1965 F100/350 352 & 1965 Ford Passenger Cars 289 2V

btw: I have a T-shirt that says: Welcome to Pocatello - Now Set Your Clock Back 25 Years

Thanks for the speedy reply, TA455HO and NumberDummy! I remember the 1960-65 engine paint schemes and the corporate blue in cars starting in 1966 but, not what happened in trucks in 1966. My brother and I restored a 1966 T850. We were lucky to find a NOS 534 short block last spring. We had a set of heads rebuilt and are ready to swap engines in the truck. Oh, NumberDummy, there is some truth in how your Tshirt reads!
