That is fairly common around here right now too......need 8 days a week to stay caught up. There was a huge strike with the workers at all the ports in California, and all the freight got behind. Everything is back up and running now, and we are SLAMMED trying to play catchup. I'm just plugging away, awaiting a little time off for my kids Spring Break soon

Got the generator running but only works when holding the switch. Sounds great otherwise. Now just to find out why it only runs when holding the switch. Had the problem before but can't remember for the life of me what was the cause. Brothers said starter solenoid but replaced that with my spare one for my truck and still the same.

Dad says switch but I am thinking it was the starter last time.
Modifying the alternator to fit was fun minus dealing with the stupid belt which we got wrong and had to go 20 miles again to get then later found out I broke the ignition coil.

Sounds like a bad switch to me. Are you able to take it apart and check out the guts on it? That happened to my generator on the toyhauler, the switch was on the inside of course......but had the same effect.
