will a power stroke fit

hello i wrote the thread on the truck not starting on its own! now that the engine is blown up, does any one now if a power stroke will fit in its place, i talked to a mechanic and he said that it would fit but there is alot of extra electrical sensors and stuff on that engine. so it would be hard to do!!! the truck that i want to put it in is a 1990 f-250 with an automatic-overdive. the blown engine is a 7.3 liter that had an ats turbo on it. has any one done this, and if so how big of a job was it and how much did it cost? or would i be better off trying to find another engine that the truck came with??? any response will be helpful!!!
thanks alot

will a power stroke fit

Bushracer,
I am almost done putting a 98 Powerstroke in my 90 F-350 4x4. I have also put a 99 6-speed in place of the E4OD. It has been a real challenge. If you have a donor truck with EVERYTHING stll on it, it is possible. My Stroke is out of a 98 E-350(van) ambulance. The Motor mounts were different and my 7.3 IDI mounts were not tall enough to clear the oil cooler. I had to make spacers.
The Van turbo is different from the f- series turbos and I do not think it will fit without a body lift. I put a 3" body lift so I would have more room. If your donor is a n F-series truck it sould fit with no problems.
My flywheel was different than the newer one so I am not sure if the torque converter will bolt up.
I am now trying to figure out all of the wiring.
So far it has taken me 3 weeks of part time work to get this far, but I hope to have it done within 2-3 more days.
If you try it Good Luck, be patient, and be thorough checking out the wires.
E-mail me if you have any other questions.
Craig
