2001 V10 Frozen gas line possible?
Hey guys my 2001 F250 V10 Is cranking but wont start. It worked fine yesterday but when I went out to start it this morning it barely was cranking. I put in a new battery and the starter seems to be turning fast enough but the engine wont fire up. I have a full tank of gas but is it still possible I have a frozen gas line? it was about 11'F today with a real feel of 0'F and we have had snowy roads the past two days(maybe ice and snow built up on outside of lines???). If not what do you guys think I should look at next? Alternator is about 3 years old and starter is about 4 or 5 years old. Any input would be appreciated!

I cant easily check fuel pressure unfortunately. I can hear the fuel pump cycle when I turn the key however. Spraying starter fluid (similar to carb cleaner I am assuming) into the intake is the next step I will try tomorrow. I will also pour some HEET into the gas tank tonight but I am guessing that wont do much if the lines are already frozen. If the engine is able to at least fire for a second or two with the starter fluid I am guessing it is safe to assume it is either a bad fuel relay/ pump or frozen fuel lines? And if nothing changes I guess I will start to look other places. On Sunday it is supposed to be 31F so I really hope it will at least start then or else I have other issues it seems.

Thanks, I will make sure to swap that out before I start messing with the fuel pump! I just went out and got some starter fluid and put a bottle of HEET in the gas tank, so we will see how it goes tomorrow.

Well went out and tried again today and realized that I cannot hear the fuel pump come on when I put the key in the on position. I should at least hear that even if the lines or filter are frozen correct? I was able to get starter fluid into the intake and get the engine to actually run for half a second until it died so I am guessing this is a fuel pump issue :/ I will try and change the fuel pump relay tomorrow but my hopes are not that high. Dealer quoted me 600 in parts and labor and seeing as I don't have the tools or garage to get this done myself it looks like I will have to bite the bullet.

yes, always ck the simple stuff first.....but if you don't have a offroad 4x4 package (metal shield on the plastic gas tank) on your truck, take a plastic mallot and pound it on the center bottom of tank while another person either crank it or cycle the ign. key every 2 seconds 4 times max. you never know , you might be able to loosen up the brushes on the pump.... good luck

I don't think 244 is that outrageous for labor to change a fuel pump especially from the dealer? And I know that the pump itself is expensive but I would like the peace of mind that I won't have to deal with it for the remainder of the trucks life.
And unfortunately I do have the off road package so I cannot hammer on the tank.
