SQOD - Can I put 2000 H.O. 302 into my 95 Bronco?
SQOD = Stupid Question of the Day
My 95 Bronco XLT w/ 5.0L (302) has a crapped out engine. Exhaust headers cracked, headers cracked, lots of carbon build-up, looks like it was run w/o oil, etc... Some guy on Craigslist is trying to sell me a 2000 Ford Explorer 302 Engine w/ H.O., and says for the most part, minus exhaust mods, it will be a bolt-in swap. I asked him about emissions and cable harness stuff, and engine computers, and he said, "don't be silly, as long as you're bolting on YOUR long-block stuff, it will be the same"
Sounds suspicious at best, but maybe he's right. I'm not a 302 engine expert, but it makes a little bit of sense, at least.
Any advice? I don't want to go bigger, just not broken like mine is, though I feel my engine (albeit not running well) was a bit underpowered.

if you use all of your accessories, intake etc.. you would be set. that motor if I am not mistaken has gt40p heads which could be an issue getting correct manifolds to fit and you can almost forget about running headers with out spending major money on special ones.
have you considered dropping a 5.8 in? its more bolt in and you don't have to change the wiring or computer either.
