Keep two tone or go solid?

So, I want to have my '89 touched up. Its not in bad shape but the hood clear coat is peeling and the roof is dull. Rest of the truck is in pretty decent shape paint wise, though you can see spots that someone went around and touched up. But driving down the street, it looks good. This is an everyday vehicle, not a show truck but I want her to be freshened up some. Stopped in the other day just to get a quick quote and the shop wants $1800 to strip down and redo the blue as well as remove the current pin stripe (section on driver's door is missing) and replace it with a similar equivalent. So given that price, I was wondering what folks here thought I should do? Stay with the two tone and have it touched up or just have the entire truck done in the deep metallic blue (this will keep the insides of the doors and the interior from having to be redone to match something else)? Here is the truck as it sits now.

Nice truck.

There is a certain charm to keeping the original look.

As these trucks age, the paint scheme used in these model years starts to have a "retro" flavor, and tends to stand out as distinct when seen on the road.

I'll leave it at that.

But to others that 2-tone paint scheme looks dated and a solid color would look more modern. Your choice though.. the truck looks pretty clean overall.

Personally I like the 2 tone. It makes it stand out from every other ME TO truck on the road

My truck has/had the same paint scheme. My long term goal is to repaint it. It's not a hard decision to make since the replacement front clip is from a two tone grey truck. I plan to go with a medium deep blue with a mild metallic.

But the bottom line is that same as in all the "What do you think would look better?" threads. Solicite opinions as to options, but choose the option that expresses what you want from the truck.

I would put my money into new clear head light lens's.
Before ya hit a deer or cow and have a lot more than paint
to worry about. It must me hard to see at night in the rain.

I love the two tone also. I wish mine was Black/Silver at times.

Same colours as my truck, so I'm biased. The bricknose looks best in two tone.

I agree with the masses. 2 colors are better than one....especially if neither of them are primer and rust.

I too am biased with a blue on blue brick nose.
