Want to change my 68 long box to short box.

Want to change my 68 long box to short box.
I'm toying with the idea of shortening my truck into a SWB. Before I think too much on it, I'd need to find a good short box to bolt on when I shorten the frame. I found one on KIJIJI in Port Burwell, but that's it. Anybody know of any others for sale in Ontario?

Although my box looks good, it's actually not in great shape. The entire left side has been replaced and doesn't match the right side. The steel floor and cross members are almost entirely rotten. The homemade wood floor hides it all. I figure it would cost just as much to shorten/ rebuild my long box vs. buying a short box in good shape.

Search "Southern Truck Boxes" on Kijiji and you will get a number of hits in Ontario from companies that have inventory or can bring up what you need from the US. I don't know how much $$ you would have to spend but it's always best to buy rust free and spend the extra bucks up front rather than having to deal with sheet metal work. (I hate body work!)
Are you staying with the styleside or thinking of going to the flareside/stepside box? The Ford stepside box is the same from the late fifties up to '79 I believe and is available as a reproduction.

It's still on KIJIJI, you have to search under classic cars, not parts. The seller sent me some pictures. It does need some work, but overall seems to be in good shape. He's asking $1000 OBO. I'd pay that for a box that doesn't need any work, but that's more than I want to spend on something I'd have to work on.

I've considered going down to the southern US myself to get one. With my new work schedule, I get 4-5 day off stretches every couple weeks, so, I have enough time. But, like was already said, buy the time a factor in gas, hotels, food, etc, it's only going to be an extra $100-$200, to have it delivered to my home. Ya never know though, I could change my mind.

I saw it done in half an hour on TV! Should be no problem! I actually have it well planned. I won't be starting till next fall, so lots of time to prepare. I'll get the body work done on the box over the summer.
