Carb choice help

Okay, so after searching for awhile and scavenging google and other forums including this I have come to the conclusion that for my stock 1978 ford 302 I want to put a 4bbl carb on it with a Weiland Stealth intake and a Autolite 4100 600cfm 4bbl manual choke carb would be a good combo/start to a motor build. I was wondering if any of you guys are running a 4bbl on your trucks and if so what set up you guys have or if there are any suggestions you could give me to help.

No experience with autolite 4 bbl stuff. I like holleys, would say an edelbrock would work well, or have been pleased with the summit racing 4 bbl carbs. I think your tuning capabilities are as important as the carb choice. Good luck.

I have a 302 with a edelbrock performer and a 600 cfm holley 4160. I really like the setup, I also have HI PO 289 heads and a ridiculous cam in this one, it is really fun to drive

Look at Quickfuel

Good stuff, Holley style with good tuning capabilities. Don't waste your cash on Edelbrock.

The really old square autolites (60s) were good but the newer ones were like a quadra-junk, in the 80s ford used motorcraft labeled holleys. I agree on holleys over a edelbrock because they aren't very user friendly.

An Edelbrock 1406/1405, an Autolite 4100 with a 1.08 (+/-450 cfm) or 1.12 (600 cfm) casting, a Holley 4160, or Summit's house-branded 600 cfm street/strip carb.

Stick with vacuum secondaries for street use.

Cool, I thought of going EFI but it wasn't in the cards financially. Is that on the 360 in your 70 F100?
