Hi Rile,

Have you gone to the dealership so they can inspect? I'm sure they'd be happy to help you out. How many miles do you have on it?

Yes I have been to the dealership I can't figure it out the kid at my dealership doesn't seem to be to informed on the 6.7 but I can't figure it out and I'm getting to the point of just so frustrated I don't care I'm gonna drive it till something happens or it stops. It's just weird cause every one says it's from the oil change but why wouldn't it tick any other time than when I put it in drive or reverse and accelerate I don't know I'm stumped!

My truck clicks. My truck clicks when I put it in drive or reverse and accelerate. I can't figure it out. Ford mechanic at valentis isn't my favorite. He can't figure it out. I am frustrated. I love the truck but very annoying. If u heard of this or know anything let me know.

you said 3 or 4 clicks? I would guess this is a U joint or the carrier bearing..
haven't heard anyone mention a transmission repair for this kind of problem.
how rapid are the clicks? tire rotation kind of timing (once every 5-6 ft) or more frequent?

one thing to test.. put the truck in neutral while rolling when u hear it and see if the sound goes away.. is is just under pressure, or all the time.

It only happens when I put the truck in drive or reverse and accelerate. It only clicks 1-3 times. It doesn't make any noise once I'm driving. Only when I put it in drive or reverse. It seems to do it more in reverse.

How many miles are on your truck, Rile? I'll see what I can do to assist.

only hear it with the windows down?

if you had the truck on a small hill and put it into gear and let it roll, do you hear it? either forward or reverse.

My drive way is a hill. I just put in nuetral and it didn't make the noise coming down the hill. I put it in drive one click then take off two or three clicks. Same in reverse. Seems to me more in reverse. But I don't know if I am overthinking this or not. Is it a common thing the truck does cause it's quitter then ever? I don't know

Thanks for following up, Rile. I'll escalate this to your regional customer service manager so they can help. To get the ball rolling, PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership.
