Howdy Pat! Going to be cold and windy here today so no work on the mess hall. I guess I'll start working on the log loader since the parts came in yesterday.

 

Hopefully that will be an inside job?

 

It will today. I've got to make some brackets up to mount new Hyd filters on. 2 on the suction side, and 2 on the return side. Already rebuilt 4 cylinders and the main valve body. I need to mount the filters, remove and clean the hyd tank and flush all the lines...

Sounds like somebody has some contamination in their hydraulic system. They keep blowing out seals?

 

Watkins Logging bought the loader (used...) last year and I mounted it on their truck for them. They have had nothing but trouble with it ever since. The tank has about 3" of "crud" in the bottom and NO filters. I've rebuilt the valve body, duel hyd pump and several hyd rams. Now I'm installing new filter assembly's and flushing out all the plumbing, and taking the tank out and cleaning it too. Big job for me but they are good friends and customers. Of course they will supply me with nice logs for a sweet price if I get my "new" saw mill...

Recieved my FTE gear in the mail yesterday. By thursday I should have my haynes repair manual for my pickup.

Now if only it would stop raining. Or at least give me a break when I walk to school....

 

38 Lousy degrees and drizzle..........WTF happened to spring?

 

Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 36.0, raining like crazy just a little while ago. Seem to be in the "eye" of the storm right now. Some blue sky at the moment, but I'm surrounded by nasty looking clouds and it looks like I'm going to get over run very shortly.

 

Well, it's almost time for trout season to open.............now it's time for the weather to go back to winter conditions in the high country.

Morning Don, back again. Got interrupted a couple of hours ago by a Senators "Legislative Assistant" (for the Senator that was "against it before he was for it" . She was in serious need of an "attitude adjustment". Probably accomplished nothing, but at least she is on notice that not everyone is intimidated by her title, especially when she won't even acknowledge that us Mountain/Valley folk in their district exist!


Senate Session starts at 1030 and SB 941 is being voted on so I've got the OLIS up on another tab so I can listen to and see the "circus".

 

It's probably all over now except for the crying!

Yeeeeeuuuuuuup. Now it goes to the house. What was interesting and funny is that it was the two sponsors of the bill that were on the verge of voice cracking crying. Very good performance. The theatrical performances were worth $500 theater seat tickets!
