I'm just going for my "24 month annual check up". ...whatever the hell that means. I have no intention of saying anything to them about disability. I can hardly wait to see their reaction if they recommend a colonoscopy and I tell them I don't have a colon anymore. The only reason I'm keeping the health coverage is to keep obummer off my back. (VA qualifies as health care to the government, so I won't be fined)

If it isn't painfully obvious, I have a certain disdain for the VA system. I only want the bare minimum from them. Since that's all they're prepared to give, it'll work out just fine. I don't need their money, I'll make my own. That's the way it's been since I was 12. I see no reason to change that now. As far as my service goes, I was hired to do a job and got laid off. Nothing more, nothing less.

Sorry to be so short with everyone, it just touches a nerve.

Apologies not necessary here Alan.

Just enjoying my last few minutes of steady nerves until the breathing treatment sets in. Good thing I didn't go into a career that requires steady hands or I'd be unemployed at times like this. I can see it now - "Sorry Mrs. Feldman. There was a minor mishap in the operating room during your breast augmentation. We don't think anyone will notice it as long as you don't wear a bikini."

Hope you get feeling better Dave.
Same ol' same ol' around here today.
Playing on "The List" looking for a basket to mount to the walker the hospital sent me home with from my hip replacement surgery almost two years ago.
There's an older lady that needs a walker and wants one with a basket on it. Thought I'd get that fixed up for her and delivered.

Y'all behave

Afternoon All!

The VA was a colossal waste of time. Appointment was at 0830. I got there at 0730 to do my labs. They didn't call me back to get vitals taken until 1030! Then it was another hour before I got to see the doctor. .....for 5 minutes. .....then they sent me on my way.

I got the truck painted and then I was done at the shop. Can't work on anything else with paint drying. I guess tomorrow is another day. I have an '11 Focus coming in to repair a bumper cover on as soon as the truck is gone.

Yeah, I got another appointment. For February 2017! She DID say the gastro guys recommended another colonoscopy. When I told her I had it removed, she asked why!!! Oh, I don't know, it seemed like a good idea at the time, I was board, the surgeon was free, I figured, why not? ....because the thing was trying to kill me you ignorant fool!!! Then she tried to lecture me about eating a healthy diet low in fat and sugar. Lady, I'm 6' tall and 175 pounds. Do I look like I need Weight Watchers? Gimme a break.

Those people just don't give a darn about us. It sure does seem like they want to off us through negligence so they don't have to spend money on us. I have a medical team genuinely concerned about my well being, so I'll let them make the suggestions from here on out.

Oops. There's that nerve again. ....sorry folks.

Evening everyone! It's been awhile since I got in here and said hello.

I know very little about the military, but the VA sounds like a aggravating/angering situation to deal with....it should not be that way.

In the past weeks, I've helped my brother pull his 289/t18/klune V(aux. crawler gear box)/np205 and front/rear D60's out of his 76 cj5....some of you will be happy to know that the 78/9 front D60 will be returned to a '78 FORD! bronco.

I also traded him a 78/9 F250 drop pitman arm for his fuel cell to go in my highboy, which I tried to get started the Saturday before last....apparently it's very upset with me because it's required a new reman distributor( bad pickup coil)+ cap/rotor...all lifetime warranty, still have receipt from '2001 LOL! Also swapped a new "used" fuel pump on (soon to be replaced with a elec pump) and changed the carb for a working unit from storage....the old 750 Eddlebrock is gummed up from setting too long, neglect on my part. So far the only good thing is...my 11 year old optima red top battery still holds 12.8v when fully charged!

Been slowly working on a homemade anvil project, out of a couple pieces of 136lb RR track. Not sure how it will turn out yet...lots of cool videos on YouTube!

And at a snails pace my rear bumper is coming along...I got the main brackets completed and working on the corner support brackets

Pics

I can weld (arc/mig) and I am getting better...but I cannot take credit for the quality of these welds, this is my brothers work. I've done 99% of the work but I felt more comfortable with him welding these particular pieces, and I wanted them to look good too.

Good night all....it's late.

Thanks for the offer to pick up on that C list deal, I'll pass, I sent the guy a note.

Good Morning Everybody!

I have a fun project for next week. Well, a couple projects. I need to make a press brake adapter for my shop press. What's that? It will allow me to bend 1/4" plate in my press. What will I use this for? I've gotten a few requests for old school winch bumpers for our dents, so I'm gonna start making them. $250 for FTE members and $350 for anyone else. If this seems like a lot, I'll have an entire days worth of fab time in to building one. The price may come down as patterns and jigs get better, but for now, that's the deal.

For today, I intend to deliver that Ford I painted yesterday and get the next little bumper ding in and hopefully done today. I guess we'll see how that goes. I hope I'm not jinxing myself here, but I've been feeling pretty darn good with my back lately. I just have a few times per day where I wince in pain. (which is awesome for me) Hopefully, that stays like that and I can knock some work out. This is going to be a busy year for me, I have a feeling.

I think I just heard Rich squeal like a kid at Christmas.

I took some time before heading out this morning to put the lower intake back together after taking it apart for cleaning. Maybe I'll get back in time this afternoon to get it back on before my lungs shut totally down. Once the engine is back together, the rear end swap and new rear brakes are up next.

I need to get this back on the road before the plates expire so I need to get cracking on it.

I like that design, but do not have anything I want to put one on. So no squealing on my part, lol.

I thought I could get away with not color sanding and buffing the Ford, but I got a run in the bottom of the fender, so I guess I won't be delivering that one until Monday after I give it a quick sand and buff.

New graphics for Earthquake next week. I hope to have the engine in there, too. I'm excited to get this season started and hopefully make some money with it this year.
