Well, I had a heck of a day. Alice threw a hissy fit today. First, the turn signal flasher quit. Then the float stuck on the carburetor and she wouldn't start after I came out from lunch. After beating on the fuel inlet, it started and ran ok, so I figured I was ok. Then right after that I had to stop short for some idiot and the cheap, china crap spring clip for the caliper flattened out again and the caliper started to drag the inside of the wheel.
I bought a new flasher, air filter, replaced a vacuum plug I found that was leaking, found an original spring clip for the caliper and put that in, and ordered the rebuild kit for the carburetor. That ungrateful b!+(h is sitting behind the shop and I drove Ka'Bluey home.
She better not give me any grief after I redo the carburetor tomorrow. I'm all for a little love on my baby, but don't give me a laundry list all at once. That's aggravating.

Sorry to hear Alice is giving you fits Alan. The '87 has been fighting me all the way today as well. All I have accomplished today is to disconnect the fuel injector harness. I have then spent 3 hours and two different fuel line disconnect tools in a fruitless attempt to disconnect the fuel lines. Tomorrow I will attempt to find a different one and try again... I have never had this much trouble disconnecting fuel lines...

I meant to say earlier the only thing you can test on an injector is the coil. Just ohm the terminals. Not sure what the ohms should be off hand, but if you have one that's very different from the rest, that's the bad one. There's no way to check seat pressure or seal without a testing bench that pressurizes each injector.

Evening all.
I get off early this week so I got some truck time in before dinner. The good news - the fuel lines are off. I think the seals had grown fond of where they were and didn't want to let go. It took some muscle, but they're apart. I may install new o-rings before putting it back together just for safety's sake.

Glad to hear Alice has come to her senses.
Look what I managed to accomplish this evening...
I'm not too pleased by the excessive carbon build-up at the end of the intake runners and around the injector nozzles. I haven't taken a good look at the ports into the head, but they don't seem to be as bad as the intake. I'll get a better picture of the inside of the intake runners tomorrow to share.

Sorry Chip, but your not the only one not playing with cars today
Shari's out of town, left yesterday evening after 4pm, for a work thing and will be back Thursday evening.
I need to get out of this house with Tim today and have some fun that isn't expensive, or illegal.
Gonna be in the 60's again, maybe a trip to a local lake is in store.
Unk Bob

I had to get the battery in Ka'Bluey charged up the other day and use him to come home since Alice threw a fit. He really seemed to like the attention. Those tires have to go though. They make him really squirrelly. I know it's not anything in the front end. I already rebuilt all of that and it's super tight.
