1996 f250 429 swap
Hi guys,
Need some advice as to what I'm getting into.. I currently have a 1996 f250 351w with e40d trans Dana 60 410 gears.
I have the chance to purchase a worked 429 said to have 500hp. Do not know what's done to it yet. Will end up getting a build sheet before purchasing. Anyway I was wondering how involved this swap will be. With doing some digging iv found a site called l & l products that sells a kit for all the mechanical things such as headers, remote oil filter, alternator mount, oil pan etc... I do plan on keeping this motor efi I just prefer fuel injection over carbs... I know since it is worked I cannot just get a diner 460 truck and swap everything over. I was looking into doing a holly efi management system? My only concern with that is how do I still use an auto trans? Or would going to a manual trans be the better route anyway? Just want to get a plan on how to go about this swap and leave minimal guess work when it comes time to do it. Any and all input is appreciated!

Looked them up they aren't too bad on price. Since I will have a stand alone efi system and now a stand alone e40d system... Would I be using anything from my trucks current wiring harness or ecu? Also should I just install an aftermarket gauge system and wire it up or is there a way to use the stock?
