It's time for new tires.

I am thinking about the Cooper Discover A/T3. Is there anyone with experience with this tire? I Would Like to hear your overall impression. I Drive 95% Highway the rest some mud for work and we usually have a couple of good snows a year. I do not tow on a regular basis and not real heavy. Just a tractor now and then and the work trailer.
Thanks for any input or other suggestions for tires.

You can't go wrong with Michelin M/S, I've been running them for years. They are a little pricey but I average 85,000 miles on a set. Hard to beat.

I second the Michilns. I would also consider the Goodyear wrangler AT ADVENTURER with Kevlar. No info on that tire tho. Only been out a year. Looks to be a well made tire. Lately a few at work have been having wear issues with their AT3's. Only getting 15 to 20k out of them.

I only run cooper tires and have never had a problem. I have a friend that runs the AT/3's and I run the ATP's from discount tire. The Michelins are good tires too but I prefer the coopers.

I have had at3s on for around 2000 miles now. I have no complaints from the long high way runs to the mud and snow out here hunting, I picked them up from discount tire for a great price. Over all no complaints so far

Thanks guys for the response.
I have had the Michelin's. They are good tires but expensive and I did not get the miles from them that I thought I should. I only got around 40,000. I always get alignment every time I get tires so I know that's not it. I now Have the General grabber HTS. The general has been a terrible tire! Wet road traction is horrible. I only have 16,000 miles on them now and probably only have 2 to 3000 miles of tread left. I want to go ahead and get something now before the snow flies.

Iaff113 how is the road noise with the AT3?
I don't want a loud tire on the road.

I used AT3s on the F150 and they lasted well - over half the tread left on all 4 after 40k miles and not once did I rotate them. Only problem is they are not too good in the snow, noise didn't seem bad but I had nothing to compare with. I just put a set of Toyo Open Country AT on the F250 and they are much better when it gets white - I was really surprised how good they are...

I also run about 95% highway and make a couple trips to Tahoe in the winter for fun in the snow and these are my favorite:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....el=Grabber+HTS

Low Rolling Resistance, quiet on the highway and had no problem in the snow in Tahoe last weekend. They're not a full on off-road or snow tire but as a multi-purpose M/S highway tire I haven't found anything better anywhere near the price without going to dedicated wheels/tires. I have a dedicated set of off-road wheels and tires and I'm happy I haven't felt the need to swap out to my off-road tires for the last two years I've been running these. I will likely end up selling them this spring since they're just taking up space.

Michelin Ltx MS. First set had 93k. On my second set. Little pricey but they are worth it.

I got the A/T3 set less than a year ago, probably have 8000 miles on them. Wear seems even, they did start making a little noise before first rotation but after, noise was gone. One tire had come a few ounces out of balance and the guys at Discount Tire fixed me up right.

I also like that for around $100 extra, you get the free replacement certificate for all 4 tires, so that if they fail for any reason up to legal tread wear, or 3 years from date of purchase, they will replace for free.

Overall, I'm happy with my purchase of just over $1000 for the set.

It has a tiny bit of noise at least more then my last Michelins but nothing that would bother you over the 6.0 hum So far I like them and won't be changing

Thanks guys for the input. The AT3's are top on my list but I'm also considering Firestone Transforce AT

I really like the BFG Rugged Terrains. Have 35k on a set and show maybe 40% wear. Possibly less.

Quiet and great snow traction.
