i'm sure this has probably been asked, and sorry for asking again, but i can't seem to find the info anywhere. i just was wondering if any one knew what kind of lift the stock valve springs can handle in my truck? i'm about to replace the cam and lifters, and didn't know how big i can go without messing with the valve springs

 

You can get 512" lift with the stock springs but that is about the limit and that says nothing about valve float which will be a problem if you intend to rev the motor more than stock.

 

oh cool, thanks man, you seem like you really know your stuff dude. i was under the impression it had to be under .500, that makes finding a cam easier, most of what i've found are actually .512, and reasonably priced as wel l
