timing cover question
Does anybody know what runs throught the port being pointed too by the red arrow? I have oil running out off of the bottom of the HPOP and i am trying to figure out if its the pump (which has been completely resealed so maybe a crack) or the timing cover which has been replaced recently... Does anyone happen to have a diagram labeling what is running through each port on the timing cover.

thats great, i need to know because if that it not an oil port then odds are the leak is coming from the housing of the HPOP and not the timing cover, would it be of your alls opinion as well that it would be unlikely that i would have an oil leak from the timing cover directly under the HPOP as there is no source of oil in that location?

I paid a diesel Mechanic who works primarily on 7.3s and 6.0s to pull the pump cause I was short on time and I needed it done in a timely manner... I'm capable but just no time... He pulled the pump and inspected it "thoroughly" then he reinstalled with new gasket.. I would assume he checked all the bolts for tightness.. It's a t500 pump with less than 10000 miles driven on it... When the received my pump for work originally they said my stock pump was in great shape especially for 300k miles on it. As soon as I hear back from them (been a week and I've sent them several messages) I'm gonna send the pump to them under warranty... I wish I could figure out for sure before then if it is the pump for sure... Do u all think I could stick my inspection camera down there and drive my truck with my laptop in the cab or would it vibrate too much?

Just fixed mine, the 2 oil lines going into the hpop needed tightening and orings. Oil was going in front down around the waterpump and filling the valley going out back where it do.

anyone get any info on what port that is on the timing cover... the issue in finding the leak is that it only leaks under full load like 2000 rpms or higher so it makes it difficult to actually see it drip and everything is so close together that you really cant see anything other than the puddle under the hpop. I thought about shoving my inspection camera up under there and routing the cable into the cab and record live video while i drive it. Im worried there may be too much vibration from the engine to get good quality video.
