302 1964 f100 help
Hey guys,I have a 302 out of a 1991 f150 that I'm going to put in my 64. I'm planning to put a thumper cam in that motor and paint it blue. The cam is a 351 cam, so can I just change the firing order to a 351? Also, I don't need the power steering pump or the a/c pumP, so can I just take them off and get a new shorter belt? Thanks.

What changes firing order? Yes your valvetrain needs to be synchronized but what else does? You got it, your rotating assembly!
Let me use the firing orded of a Ford fe off the top of my head real quick as its what I know. Its 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 which means that's the pattern that the pistons rise and fall In sequential order and the valvetrain needs to synchronize that. In order for "changing the firing order" to work, both cam and rotating assembly need to mesh in same order.
Hope this helps.
And after market pulleys are always available, measurs out the length you need and hit up your local auto parts shop.

Windsors 351-5.8s and small blocks 221-260-289-302...5.0 can swap cams. A 302 cam will work in a Windsor 351-5.8 and a Windsor cam will work in a small block even though the firing order is different.
If the OP is going for nostalgia performance, that's fine but for overall daily driving and street performance keeping the EFI from the 91 is pretty easily done. The ECU can be used off the 91 and adapted to run in the 64. Just takes a little research but it is easily done.

It always amazes me how much information is here.
In that this forum is dedicated to trucks that didn't even come from the factory with a 302, you might be able to get more information from the Small Block forum: Small Block V8 (221, 260, 289, 5.0/302, 5.8/351W) - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
Hope this helps.
