A couple months ago I was pulling a 18' flatbed lightly loaded with some steel. (4,000lbs maybe)
Anyway, I had to make a pass going up over a bridge. Dropped into 3rd gear and went about 3/4 throttle, it picked up and went from 55-75 in not much time. It's got the power!
Since I upgraded to front discs and hydroboost assist my brakes are freaking phenomenal. I can stop on a dime and give 9 cents change

I'm planning a vacuum power disc swap someday when I have all the pieces.

I've almost got everything but the lines so I hope to have power brakes by the end of next week.

On a tire pressure note, I once read the best way to assess tire pressure is to rub some chalk across the tire and then roll over a little water. You can really see where the tire is contacting the ground and make adjustments. Wet on the outside and not the center means too low and visa versa. Sounded really good although I never actually tried it myself. I had 37" military tires on my F350 and generally ran those at 50psi.

I did the chalk thing once. I don't remember what pressure I had but it wore off flat.

The big tires like your 37s are usually either 50 or 65 psi rated.

Hard at it again today! Hauled my 67 galaxie 500 and my 48 F-1 a few miles up the highway to store at a buddy's place.

So here's a question, how much do you guys feel comfortable towing with your bump? I did 6,000lbs with mine again today and it handles it well.

I feel very comfortable towing my 2000 lb bass boat even without trailer brakes. Of course I have an F250 CS with a 460.

love the bump being used like it should.... keep posting cool pics
i have a bad habit of loading my little ole f100 till something breaks, then i back off a few pounds.. ha ha ha ha .. i run the 31 10.50s on mine usually at 50psi.. it only has the 300-6 np435 but does everything i have asked it to so far.. i cant wait to get my "new" 72 f350 with a 390 fe out working.. i will try not to find the "limit" on it..... ha ha ha ha ha

That 300 is a great engine. Might be slower than the V8s but it'll do just as much if not more.
