Does anyone not tow anything with their SD?
I'm just a little curious, because I will not be camping or hooking up my trailers till March. I guess I'm just feeling a little guilty not putting it straight to work. Just wondering if anyone just bought their truck because of looks, extra room,or whatever and not towing with it?

I'm the opposite. When I'm working my normal schedule I'm towing a work trailer about 1,000 miles/week on average. We used the camper last week for a cool 900 miles.
Sometimes I think back and realize there's a trailer on my truck almost every day.
But, it's business for me. That's why I have it and why I like it so much. If I didn't need one for work I'd probable have a used one anyway to use like y'all do, weekend stuff and a few Rv trips throughout the year.
The only thing that bugs me are all the high school kids with these diesels making 500+ hp. I pray they keep them under control.

I have a TT that weighs around 10k that I may pull at some point, but in 14 months and 15,000 miles, I have yet to tow anything. It is my DD and work is 27 miles each way. I bought it because I wanted it - not because I needed it. I hope to someday be able to trade my TT for a fiver. Either way, it will be nice to have enough truck when the time comes.

I bought my truck for the utility and because I like to drive it. 20%-25% of the miles I am towing a 8500 lb TT. I make a number of road trips into the mountains or badlands by myself each year to fish and explore. I sleep in the shell .... the wife and the trailer stay home. Glorious alone time of 3-5 days at a time! My volunteer work sometimes requires space for 4 passengers into the high country. I use it and work it.

I haven't picked up the 6.7 yet, it is ordered though. When I get it I will only be towing occasionally, and usually one of my boats. I still want the diesel and the 3/4 ton rating to be able to actually load heavy items in the bed, Nothing worse than having a bunch of brick or bags of motor in the bed of a 1/2 ton with the front end pointing skyward.
I currently drive a 2001 f250 with a 7.3 diesel, I am the second owner and the first owner never even put a receiver in the hitch. He did use the 4x4 though. I would rather have too much truck most of the time than not enough when I really need a truck. I also no longer like keeping spare trucks around for the needed job. To much maintenance, and insurance that way.
