Installing HD alternator in 95 F350/460

How and where can I get parts necessary to install the optional HD alternator w/ the larger case in a 95 F350 with the 460?

Don't want info on uprating my present unit.

All the mid 1990's F53's had them for the 130 amp alternator.
You might try:

No that's not necessarily true. To the best of my knowledge only the small case 95amp alternator was available as standard and the large case 130amp was not available on the F350's.
It was on some of the vans but rarely. Im looking for the 460 bracket that mounts from the engine to the alternator top which is different than the stock 95 amp bracket in order to mount the larger alternator.

I did not say F350. I said they were standard on the F53. I have an 460 F53 with a stock 130 alternator on it.

Sorry SUBFORD, I misunderstood your message, now I figured it out what a F53 is you were referring to.
I will give Colaws a call as that sounds like a good lead and follow up. thanks!

An upgrade to a 3G alternator is a very popular upgrade to our trucks and an easy and safe way to get a 130 amp alternator. Do a search here in the forums. There are lots of threads and lots of links in those threads to some good info. I did mine not too long ago and I am very pleased with the results.

3G is the third generation alternator design referred to as a AC Generator on Ford wiring diagrams.

The one you all ready have on your 1995 F350 truck is a 3G alternator.

Also note that the 130 amp alternator for the 1995 460 on a F53 is a swing belt adjustment alternator.

To tell a 90/95amp alternator from a 139 amp alternator look at the front of the alternator.
You will see 3 pairs of ribs.
If there are four holes between the ribs it is a 90/95A
If there are two holes between the pairs of ribs it is 130A

The 90A case is 135mm in diameter
The 130A is 148mm in diameter

It will bolt right on, though you probably want to upgrade the charge and ground cables.

I have a 130A 3G retrofit on my 460 from DB Electrical.

DB Electrical - ALTERNATOR FORD F SERIES TRUCK 4.9L 94 95 96 / 7.5L 95 96 97

They sell a 200A as well, but I wonder if the serpentine belt has enough traction to drive it at that amperage.

Edit to add Ebay pic.
Stock in trucks was the four hole 95A variety.

Is yours from the factory a swing belt adjustment alternator?
Did you have to change brackets to go from 95 to 130 amp with a stock dimensions alternators?

My '87 is swing adjustment with V-belt pulleys.
It came with a 60A 2G.

I had to put a thin shim washer behind my pulley to keep it from rubbing the case, and tap the adjuster bolt hole from 8x1.25 to 3/8-16"
It is the 8 1/4" C-C mount as used on the Taurus/Sable/Windstar/Lincoln 3.8 V6.

It fit the stock arm and pivot just fine.
Even used the same belt.
Everything lined right up.

I think a 460 1995 F-350 did come with a swing bracket for the 95amp.
It also used the serpentine belt.

I am just not sure if the 130amp will bolt right in or you have to get different brackets.

(edited out irrelevant question)
The 460 and 4.9 list the same Lester number for application.

I think the OP is misinformed.
The dimensions of the upper pivot are the same.
Using the 8.25" ear mount pushes the larger diameter case out for the required clearance.

If it didn't fit, the number would not be the same.
