And staying within the 30" tire diameter, could I run a 275/65r17 or 285/60r17 without the having to touch the speedo? I know at 60 the gauge will be off by 1 mph give or take but I can live with that. Is 285 too wide?

MCDavis stated that the Raptor size 315/70/17 is the largest tire that Ford supports. That tire is considerably taller and wider than your current tire. It might be worth stopping at the dealer to price out tires that will fit your truck. They should have all the info & most dealers have good pricing.

I know. I just want to stick with a 30" diameter tire to not mess with any calibration. I would like a more "trucky" tire as the ones I have now are passenger too. I did an online calculator and it said that the largest size for a 17" wheel that would be about the same now would be a 285/60r17. A wider tir. And a half inch taller tire. Won't throw my Speedo off too much to not have to worry about recalibrating it

My truck has the 235's also. I'm planning to upgrade to the 265's in the near future. I asked the service advisor at my dealer if I needed a speedo reprogram and he stated that the 235's and 265's are close enough in size that a recal is not needed. The only reason why I'm changing is there are only a few decent choices for tires in the 235 series whereas in the 265 series there are dozens to choose from.

265/70 or 265/65? And another question...do I need to specify lt tires? My truck does not have lt tires on it now as to why...I don't know. Ford sold it that way haha

And from what I'm also seeing, my current size of 235/75/r16 is a 30.9 inch tire. Could I go to 301" without much difference? Sorry for all the questions guys. Just want a nice look with different wheels /tires

You should have at least 17" wheels I think. That said, a P265/70 is 31.7" roughly and 265/65 is 30.6" tall. I think you could easily fit a 265/70. Go on www.Tirerack.com and check the brand you want, it offers all the specs for the tires also. If it was me I'd go with the biggest tire I could fit without rubbing and call it a day. And P metric to LT is your choice, I'd go LT but thats just me. Depends what you intend to use the truck for mostly

Thanks! I'll look into the size! My main concern is that to just not throw the speedo off too much. If it's a mile or two over at 60 I'm ok with that. I'd really like a set of terra grapplers!

I think my 35s are only 2-3 mph off against the GPS IIRC. +1 for the Terra's I have 35k on mine and plenty of life left in them

I really like the sound of the 265/70/17 . Will they look bigger? These 235/75/17 are killing me haha

That tire is just under 32". A 275/70 would look even better at a little over 32" IMO

Lol I would like to have bigger tires but I dont want to throw anything off in the trucks system too much! I'll try the 265/70s and if I like em I'll wear em out and buy bigger shoes!
