Block lift vs add a leaf

i gota 95 f350 on 37s, its been lifted in the rear by a 4 inch block and add a leafs. My biggest problem is the axle wrap and having wheel hop when i loose traction. So should i just do all block lift 6 inches ? or leave it how it is to prevent wheel hop. And yes i know i need traction bars and true lift springs but i dont have that kind of money

stock blocks for the F-350 is 4 inches.
the larger the block the more problems you will have.
if you want a lift, do springs not blocks.

Amen Tom, blocks cause axle wrap period. I dumped mine and went with all leaf spring, procomp lifted springs are cheap, I got mine for 250 bucks a pair front or rear and they go from 4 to 6 inches. That included shipping JC Whitney. Even with the springs I am going to add ladder bars in the rear. I can still see were im getting axle wrap, just look at your drive shaft slip joint. Big tires, lots of power need something to keep that rear in place.

i went from the stock 4 inch block and stock springs to a 6 inch spring and only the angle wedge on my 88.
made a world of difference. i don't even need the kicker shocks to eliminate the axle wrap now.
i think it was $325 for both springs and 4 u-bolts.

You can do the shackle flip in the rear to gain some inches. Might be able to keep your current springs.

Add a leafs make it ride stiffer too. Traction bars will get rid of your axle wrap but cost same or more than lifted springs. I'd start with the shackle flip since money is tight.(good idea 89F2urd).

I did away with the 4" block in my 6" kit in the bronco.

It not only did away with the axle wrap but also(believe it or not) made it ride better with the RuffStuff shackle flip

really, huh i wouldnt have thought ford would have put that big of a block on a truck thats made to tow. And yeah i know i need real springs i get that, im redoing the hole lift when im out of college. Im just seeing whats better for less axle wrap 6 inch block on the add a leaf, cus yeah the add a leaf definitely makes it ride pretty stiff.

Add a leaf and shorter block would better than a 6" block

IIRC I had to move the new hanger forward 1-5/8" to get the correct shackle angle

And still have good pinion angle

all trucks have some sort of angled shim between the axle and spring.
size of the truck will determine the angle of the shim.
a 2 wheel drive F-150 may only have a 10 degree shim, where a F-350 4X4 may have a 30 degree shim.

i am not sure on the actual shim size, just using these numbers as an example.
a 4 wheel drive F-350 with snow plow prep that sits 26 inches from bumper to ground will have a much larger angle shim than a 2 wheel drive F-150 with only 12 inches from bumper to ground

huh yeah u must have a different axle then me cus my pinion angle is not that far up. And well sence this truck has a 4 inch block stock i guess i only have one add a leaf and a "spacer leaf", What i mean by that is that the last guy put that helper spring thats on the top of my leaf spring for a heavy load, on the bottom of the leaf to add like 1/2 inch of lift

Has Nothing to do with the axle. Has to do with pinion shim that the BRONCO uses. Using w lesser degree shim will lessen the angle and that is what is needed on a pickup. It is different on every wheel base
