Brake lights stay on.

Well here we go again.

1996 Ford F250 7.3L Diesel.

The previous owner did some pretty shotty wiring for a trailer brake module that he put in. This caused my hazard lights to not work. The problem was that the constant power wire (red with white stripe wire) to the hazard light switch was not connected. The PO cut the wire to run constant power to the brake switch. I used a quick splice connector and got it hooked back up and the hazard lights work now. There also was a solid green wire that was disconnected in the steering column so I reconnected it. I don't know if there is a break somewhere further down in that wire. Another issue is that the wire other side of the brake switch is disconnected and I don't know where it goes to. I looked at the wiring diagram and I cant figure where it goes.

All that is to say that now my rear brake lights stay on constant and I don't know what to do. I pulled fuse 13 to avoid killing my batteries but I have no idea where to start.

Any help will be appreciated.

Unplug the BOO switch (brake on-off). It's on the brake pedal. If the brake lights are still on, disconnect the trailer brake controller from that circuit. It should be wired into the BOO switch circuit.

The BOO switch is what I mean that is not connected to any where. It is not connected at all. The power to it is hooked up but the other side is not and I don't know where it is supposed to hook to.

You're just gonna have to trace it out with a good wiring diagram. I'd probably totally disconnect the trailer brake controller first, then get the lights working.
My diagrams are for a '94, hopefully your '96 is the same...
On mine, power gets to the BOO on a LG/R wire (from the R/W wire feeding the hazards), then from the BOO on a LG wire going back up to the multifunction (turn signal/hazard) switch. Then from the multifunction switch to the left brake light on a LG/O wire, and to the right brake light on a O/LB wire.
