can transmission issue cause no start?.

I might have, what may be considered by some ,to be a dumb question.Don't even know if this is the correct forum, but cant figure this out on the 1999 suoerduty forum. Here goes.....
Sat morning started my truck after being plugged in. Cranked and fired fine. Parking brake was set...put it neutral and released the clutch pedal and started to exit the truck and it died. Never done this before. I thought oh oh somethings wrong here and turned the key off then back on.....waited for the wait to start light to go out and started to crank her again, only this time she didn't fire. It is cranking strong but will not start.
Now, for what iv'e tried....
1 Checked oil level in both high and low pressure oil pumps....good
2 checked icp for oil in plug....none
3 disconnected icp....still no start
4 pulled each and every fuse and relay ....all good
5 checked each and every electrical plug .....none loose and no wires chaffed
6 fuel pump runs when key turned on
7 fuel filter clean ....heater wire not broken and fuel bowl fills up quickly when key turned on
8 new cps....still no start
9 pulled, disassembled, cleaned and tested ipr
10 checked valve cover harness and connections ,no hot spots chaffing or loose wires
11 no ses light.....wait to start light comes on and goes off normally, builds oil pressure ....and tach moves up to about 200 when cranking
12 after all this ......still no start!
Now comes the reason why i posted in this forum......
This afternoon after one of the above tests , i tried to start it and again no luck.
Thinking how i could burn it without getting caught and charged with insurance fraud i released the parking brake(so i could clean some fuel off the driveway) and let it roll back a few feet.
Upon releasing the clutch pedal ,with truck in gear, it continued to roll back. never done this before/ so I hit the brake stopped the truck to make sure it was in gear.....let off the brake and again it continued to roll a little.Again never did this before and i am not parked on a steep grade and many times have left it parked on said driveway overnight no brake in first gear.
Now, is this an issue to be investigated and /or could it cause a crank but no start?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A bad range switch can cause a no start . Rare , a seized trans. can cause a no start . A neutral safety switch can cause a no start . What you working on ? What year , engine , trans ?

It's located on the driver's side of an automatic transmission. It doesn't exist on a manual transmission. And it wouldn't have caused a crank, no start anyway.
