Hello sage 6.8L owners. I have an 04 E450 with the v10. I was driving in the city yesterday when, under moderate load, there was a loud bang under the engine cover. It was followed by what sounds like an exhaust leak and very poor performance. My first thought was that it might have launched a spark plug but I don't see any coils dislodged. Also, all the plugs were replaced about 10k miles ago (it currently has 130k on it).

Any ideas what to check?

Yeah, you blew a plug.

Put your finger tip on each coil with the engine running at idle. The one that's dancing is the one that's blown.

Yep a plug. When mine blew I was absolutely certain the exhaust fell off - looked in the rear view expecting to see a muffler in the road behind me.
