can anyone tell me what year this van might be?

sorry no pics, but i was at my mothers house the other day and i noticed a picture from the spring of 1990 of me and my uncle standing in his driveway next to an econoline 150 that he had when he used to paint houses. i asked him what year he thought it was and he barely remembered owning it until i reminded him and he thought it was an 85 but i think it was older than that.

from the pics i gathered the following information...

the "econoline 150" badging was on the back sides of the truck not up near the hood like most 80s vans ive seen

it had the barn style doors in the back, and it looks like it spelled "ford" out rather than it be inside the blue oval.

the fuel cap didnt have any gas cap door. there was a large cap with a raised middle lip that you could grab on to to remove.

i was only 4 years old when the pic was taken, but i do remember him always complaining how much gas it burned. i did ride quite a few times though and remember i used to play in the back while he drove lol

I would google image search "19xx e150" for each year until you find the same van. Someone else might know what year by the info you gave, but I don't know nearly enough.

You might also want to search "Ford E-Series" on Wikipedia. That page also has several pictures of older Econoline vans and Wagons. It might help you identify which body style you remember. That should be fairly easy because the Econoline/E-Series bodies received few major changes through the years. Follow that up with an image search on Google or another search engine. Good luck.

1975/78 Econolines have round head lamps, parking lamps located in lower grille panel. 1979/91's have rectangular head lamps, parking lamps located below head lamps in grille.

So, the 1975/78's also use a different grille than 1979/91's.

1975/82's have FORD block letters on the right rear back door, 1983/91's have the Blue Oval instead.

1975/79's have exposed fuel caps, 1980/91's have fuel doors.

These are about the only visual exterior differences between 1975 and 1991.

Pic from 1973/79 Ford truck parts catalog / Left: 1975/78 / Right: 1979 (same as 1980/91).
