Hey guys I don't know what year Ford discontinued this. The torque converter can be drained and refilled with fresh fluid also. I don't remember for sure if there is a rubber plug on bottom of trans housing (possibly only on 150?) If no plug, the dust cover bolted to front, lower, of the transmission housing can be removed. Turn the engine over to see if a drain plug is in the converter. This lets you drain a lot more of old oil out of the tranny.

Torque Converter drains plugs are prior to Aug 2001 build dates IIRC.

I think they are the same. For what it's worth, the pan on my 2003 2WD F-250 is the same as the pan on my 2000 4WD Excursion. What is different is the filter. The actual filter element is the same, but the pick up snout reaches deeper on the 4WD filter. But you can use the 4WD filter in the 2WD model, this is what I have been doing

Oh, and let's make sure nobody calls that thing a 'filter' ever again
Seems to me calling it that is what makes ppl replace them for no reason.
