G'mornin everybody, nice wet day, but at least high temp keeps us from freezing.
Our light display is down, and packed into the attic and shed.
May need a few more cords next year.
And of course my helper, Rocky!

That's a lot of extension cords you got there Bob. And you need more?

I need to find time to put up all our outdoor decorations.

Paint question?
Can I spray plasti-dip on my excursion rims? Will it take hold? Certainly I'd clean the heck out of them. But would I need to do anything else? I would prefer not to sandblast them or have to do much prep of any kind beside cleaning and taping. Was going to paint them black but got to thinking about bedliner or spray plasti-dipping them. I've read the plasti-dip site. Seems like it will work. Just didn't know if anyone had some experience with the spray. I've dipped tools and such but never used the spray. Thanks.

Yup, we're already talking about adding another 16 channel controller, so more lights (oh darn) and more cords.

I think you'd be alright but I would also scuff them with something like a 3M scuff pad, and like you already know get them super clean, no oil or grease can be on them.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I'm going to give it a shot. I'll take some photos of the mess I'm sure to make.

Really cool light set up Bob. Its probably both a chore and a delight to set up and break down.

If the tires are mounted, get a deck of playing cards and wedge them between the rims and wheels for overspray protection..

Good ideal Tony
When I was painting cars years ago we had a customer who brought in his wheels he wanted to get painted to match his ElCamino I had already painted. But, he had already put new tires on the wheels. I wasn't sure what to do, so I got a sheet of plastic for the paint booth floor, and a jar of Vasoline to rub over the sidewalls of his new tires.
That was a super embarrassing thing to go to the check out girl with.

Good idea Tony. I'm definitely leaving the tires on if possible. I plan to clean the rims real well and tape and plastic the rubber.

I can see the ladies face at the checkout:

Sir, why do you need a five gallon pail of Vaseline and a 100 foot roll of plastic sheeting? Uhm...never mind.

Happy New Years!

Happy New Years everybody
Yeah I know, but I guess we're supposed to say it.
Getting ready to get my beans put together so they can go in the smoker with the two slabs of Baby Back Ribs that have been covered with my favorite dry rub since yesterday. Guess the wife needs to go get something for desert

Whaddupp everybody
To help with financing to move from Missouri to North Carolina just over two years ago, I did the hardest thing that I'd been met with for years.
I sold my 79' F150 "Ka'Bluey" man it sucked Not long after we moved I found out that he was for sale again, then the next owner kept him just a few months too, then after trashing him, he put him up for sale. A good friend of mine seen the add, and he and his wife bought him, with the shot that I could have my boy back
So after talking to Shari this evening, we have made arrangements to buy Ka'Bluey back.
He should be in the drive way by late summer, at the latest.

Here's a picture that a friend took, just before the new owner drove him away.

Back to get the remote starter reprogrammed today. Seems it just runs about 5 minutes then shuts off, not quite long enough to even begin to get some heat going.

Here's how I spent my afternoon yesterday
