Rebuilding 5.4 Throttle Body -OR- How to work on your truck for 2 days and not actually fix anything

So the humming in the intake. We all know it's the IACV. My options are- A: Remove it and clean it. - B: Replace it for $40. Either isn't that bad, but I would have to get in there and remove it and I thought I could get away with doing it a different way. I was wrong, but then again I knew I would be I basically used this as an excuse to pull the intake and get in there to see what all was there and get close to the IACV so I can get a better picture on swapping it later on... if I get around to it So anyway, here are a few videos on what I did in case anyone can ever use them

Not sure that you wasted your time, you seem pretty satisfied with the results. Looks like you spent a LONG time getting that thing polished up to look like new. You do get a bit philosophical there in the last video.


In the future, PLEASE take your videos with the camera horizontal. It's hard to watch a video that's only half as wide as the screen.

Didn't realize how big the engine bay actually is, mine is cluttered with all thatnextra tubing.

Also in rep jail!

When I noticed I was doing it I stopped and started the video over filming the correct way. A few just slipped by

Always interested in an engine swap with anyone if you're that jealous of this amazing room I have... It's really worth it!
