Cab and radiator mount bushings

I'm working on a 1979 F150 4x4 took the cab off sandblasted and painted the chassis. Now it's time to put the body back on it. The rubber cab body mounts and bushings are shot and needed cut off along with the radiator core support pads. Now I need to find replacements. I called Dennis Carpenter and they only seem to have them for a 2wd truck none for the 4x4. What are all the 4x4 guys doing when you's needed to replace yours? Where can I find them?

Bronco Graveyard has them. That's where I got mine from. You can even get the complete body mount kit that includes all the bolts, washers, nuts, and the hardware for the bed. It literally is everything to go from rad. support to the bed. You can choose between exact repops or polyurethane. And they are a site sponsor.

^ looks to be the research from NumberDummy? Where is the missing info of the year interchange and models? I didn't know the body mounts were different from the 2wd to 4x4 Carpenter said the thickness was different. Did anyone confirm that?

I didn't even think about bronco graveyard. I got things from them in the past. Come to think of it I got my transfer case bushings there. The full body kit sounds like that I may need as all the mounts were seized and rusted together so the hardware all needed cut off. Also had to cut acouple of the bed bolts.

Do yourself a favor and use anti seize on the mount bushing bolts when you go back together. And not just the threads put some on the shank of the bolt as well. Next time you tear down the bolts should actually come out.

inre to the following, this info is incorrect. 2WD & 4WD is the same.

Carpenter said the thickness was different. Did anyone confirm that?
The info is from one of my posts, I also posted the parts catalog pic (here it is again).

I don't recall what the OP's application was...that I typed this info for, so I may have typed the applications, may not have.

Carpenter's repro's may not have the same specs as the originals, because they may not be the same as the originals. I know that his 1965/72 upper/lower cushions are "universal fitz-all's."

- 1973/79 F100/350 2WD & 4WD -

D3TZ-1000155-B .. Absorber (Rubber Cushion) - Lower radiator support & lower front & rear cab mounts / 31/32" I.D. x 2 9/32" O.D. x 7/8" thick.

D3TZ-1000396-C .. Absorber (Rubber Cushion) - Upper radiator support & upper front & rear cab mounts / 2 5/32" high (is all the catalog says).

It's weird how coming straight from Carpenter they said the 2wd and 4x4 are different for the 79 I'm working on. Don't make any sense since they are the go to people when it comes to restoring these old fords. So I don't get how them of all people believe they are different. So I could just buy there 2wd rubber cab and radiator mount pad kit and be fine no alignment issues?

Yup definitely will be anti seizing all of them so I won't have to destroy all the hardware next time.

Did you get the rubber or poly ones? Anyone know how good there rubber ones are? I'm looking for quality ones as I've had LMC ones on my 71 and they are total crap start to crack soon after installed and 2 years later they are about shot.

Where did Carpenter get this bogus info from?

Does Carpenter have the 1973/79 truck parts catalog? If so, does he have anyone that knows how to use it?

I was there in person in 2004, the fellow that waited on me at the counter (Tom) was an ex-Ford partsman. So, AFAIK, he's the only one that can read the catalog....the rest of DC's employees are clueless.

Another glaring error: DC has website that lists all his obsolete parts...and he has a lot of them.

But the website is difficult to use as some are part numbers, but some are also ID engineering numbers (numbers marked on some parts). So, it's a confusing mish-mash.

DC also has his obsolete parts listed on PartsVoice.com and rearcounter.com.

1962/76 Fairlane/Torino, 1967/79 Ranchero, 1977/79 LTD II (not an LTD!) have the letter O as the 3rd digit of their part numbers prefix.

The IDIOT that entered these numbers into DC's website and these two internet search sites used a zero (0) instead!

So when typing the part number correctly into these websites, NONE are listed for DC. When I discovered this crap several years ago, called and spoke w/a gal in the office.

She said she was aware...but added they may not fix the problemo.

Sounds like for being so into ford trucks and offering remanufactured and NOS parts they really don't care to fix the part number mess ups and have the right information. Those things help sell and being organized and correct information help companies get a good reputation. Carpenter is always getting such good reviews from everything that I seen. Makes me wonder why they won't correct the part numbers and give all the right applications on parts they offer. I'm sure they lost many sales because of them not listing the bushings being for 2wd and 4x4 applications. Bronco graveyard is looking a lot better for my cab bushings I like how they offer the full body kit. Anyone confirm that they use quality rubber?

I can confirm that Bronco Graveyard is a FTE sponsor and Dennis Carpenter is NOT. I would ask BG if you can get a FTE member discount??

I bought the rubber kit. As they look just like the originals. No alignment issues at all. I also had to get and install the frame savers in a couple of locations. Just be sure to specify if your truck is a styleside or flareside. This is because the bed hardware is different. My truck is a styleside 8' bed, but I got a kit that was for a 6' flareside. No big deal as I didn't need the bed hardware.

I just put a 5.4L in my 78 F150 4X4.. When I took the front clip off one of the bolts to the frame broke off. I saw zawed the bushings off and used the bushings and bolts from my 2002 donor F150. A little trim with a razor and its good to go.
It worked for me and I had em.
