Greetings Gurus! New to the site and looking forward to the resourcefulness of the forums here! I recently purchased a 64 F500 and have little information to go on to start getting it back to life. There is a V8 in place but it is not original and the owner could tell me little about it other than it was a motor from the same era as the truck itself. I need to run full exhaust from the manifolds but with no motor specs and little help from the parts stores, I'm having little luck narrowing down to the exhaust flanges I need. Can you offer advice on identifying this motor and maybe some direction for acquiring the 3-bolt flanges to tie in new exhaust? I really appreciate your time and knowledge, and I look forward to conversations with you folks going forward!

 

4th digit of the VIN is the engine code, post what it is.

Some 1964 V8 F500's came with the 292, has the dizzy behind the carb.

Otherwise, all other 1964 & 1965/78 V8 F500s came with FT engines (dizzy in front of carb): 330 2V M/D - 330 2V H/D - 361 2V - 391 4V

These FT trucks came with Rams Horn exhaust manifolds, which are the same right & left.

If it doesn't have the Rams Horns, the engine may have been swapped...look on the manifolds for numbers, post what they are.

 

Here's what I could find for numbers on the manifolds... Hopefully these photo inserts work...






I know the motor has been swapped but there's not much for details to go on.... What is the 'dizzy'?
