What is this part?

I'm almost certain this is non OEM. It was attached to the wiring harness of my old two post "Optimus" cassette player. I recently bought a new JVC Din radio and adapter plate and discovered this little jewel upon my install. I cut the zip ties to see what is inside. There is no part numbers or markings on it. I thinking it might be some kind of noise suppressor? I left it in when wiring up the replacement unit.

Yes looks like a standard elec noise filter or noise suppressor. What you mean is you do not get on the AM frequency that will let you hear the engine rmp thru the speakers. lol

This suppressor is aftermarket, looks nothing like the original. The original looks like the condenser in dizzy's without DuraSpark.

D5AZ-18832-A (replaced C8OZ-18832-A) .. Capacitor-Radio Noise Suppressor.

Why do I get the tag? I never said it was OEM or original, just a standard (as in standard looking) noise filter....

Jeesh....

You know sometimes (well most of the time) it seems like all you do is cruise around looking to nit pick any help I put on here? Am I doing that bad a job trying to help people?

Keep your and to yourself.

Since this is what you typed, some people might assume it's the same as the one Ford used. It ain't.

And btw: I don't have time to cruise around and nitpick your posts, since I type in 8 different forums here on FTE.

I spend less time in this forum than any other except the 1980/86 forum.

You're doing a mighty fine job kiddo, all you need is the parts catalog, so you can post your own pics, instead of 'borrowing' them from mikeo0o0o0 and I.

Yes I know what I typed, no need to quote me, because no where did I say OEM or factory, if I thought that it was OEM or factory, I would of said that, so relax about it ok, because I did not.

And ok so I should of said "common looking" instead of "standard". The term standard is common or normal to me. No need to Wikipedia the definition of standard, common or normal and post it here either. lol

And we all know what ASSUME stands for right?

"Standard" ....as in standard to every aftermarket radio installed in a vehicle. The aftermarket ones all look the same, no matter in a Ford, Chevy, Dodge or VW.

I knew what he meant. I'm pretty sure YOU did too.
