Retrofit Nav/radio
I posted a thread on this in '13, never was able to get all the stuff and bits together. Several attempts, some lost hours and wasted money I remain on the quest.
I have a 2012 F250 SD. Four door, diesel, 4x4, xlt. It came with a basic radio. I thought when I bought it had a satellite radio, all the paperwork says so, but alas there doesn't seem to be one installed.
I am looking to retrofit a satellite radio/nav. Any guidance / suggestions / counsel will be gratefully appreciated. I looked at some of the after-market ones, but want to go OEM.
I picked up a unit at a salvage yard, said it was 2012, but the connectors are different it looks like some antennas aren't there.
Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

most of the 2012 radios were self contained. most of the 2013 and later were made from components, i.e., separate screen and modules. The 2012 nav radio had an internal hard disk. Years before had dvd's with the maps. One needs Sync already installed or find a way of adding it.
Here is an example of one I purchased from this seller for the 2011 F350

I just installed a kenwood dnx5160 gps today . With the aftermarket wiring harness it was pretty easy. . The mounting was a lil more difficult as the instructions are very vague . But once I figured it out it was simple. Gps works great as its a garmin and the DVDs player works nice has good picture and with all the speakers it's just like surround sound. I even grounded the radio so the DVDs player plays while moving .

Yes it has all that stuff but they require different plug in harnesses. Any audio dealer can get all that . The unit I. bought was a store demo I got for 200 bucks instead of 599.00 . I called crutchfield they sent the correct harness as to what my truck had . A antenna adaptor. And a dash mounting kit . Took about an hr to install and about a half hr wiring the 2 harnesses together . They have the add on for synch and steering wheel controls.

I purchased an oem nav radio for our Expy El and just got it installed at a local shop. Dealership said that it could not be done so I did a lot of searching and found 1 at oemautopartsco.com. They have the factory unit, front and rear cameras and other accessories. I bought their lockpit which allows the wife to watch a dvd while i'm driving, enter addresses for nav while moving, and use the front and rear cameras any time you want - pretty cool. I looked and they have your radio and the goodies if you are still looking
