I remove the old 3.3/8" stuff like you have and shxt canned it. So first got to fill all those rivet holes before predrilling for the new trim.
I don't think the anodizing coating is as "thick" as the old oem days when first made tho.

1 1/4" wide upper side mouldings: 1967 Custom Cab/Ranger, ditto 1968 before serial number C56,001.
1 1/2" wide upper side mouldings: 1968 Custom Cab/Ranger from serial number C56,001, ditto 1969, 1970/72 Sport Custom.
3 3/8" wide upper side mouldings: 1970/72 Ranger/Ranger XLT. Ranger has black painted inserts, Ranger XLT has walnut wood grained inserts.
