First look! eBay aluminium radiator for the old girl

Guys, just squint a bit and pretend it's a Ford engine in there. I know it's hard!
I purchased an ebay radiator the other day. $250 which I thought was very reasonable. 3 core. My measurements were a bit skewiff (what else is normal), and the radiator sits a bit too high for my liking, but at least it is new and doesn't leak and the one that was in it didn't properly fit as it came out of some sort of GM car. Anyway, the brackets will line up very nicely with the f100 frame. Only ****ty bit is the height which I am not fond of. I was a bit worried that it would hit the hood, but a quick measurement under there suggests I have at four inches to play with. I have to raise the radiator about an inch as it is sitting on the frame, so, let's say a good two or more inches clearance. Can anyone see a problem with it being that close to the hood? (Ignore the radiator hose which looks like it is feeding into the fins. It is actually supporting it at the moment.
Ta
Peter

Is that a direct fit or a universal fit radiator? It will work fine, as long as there is clearance you will be good to go.
I have been using champion aluminum radiators, both direct fit and universal and they have worked great. Champion makes a direct fit for the 53-56 Ford trucks so I was just curious if this was one of theirs. My direct fit units for the 51s are also tall but bolt up to the factory locations.

It doesn't sit any higher than the original, does it?

Dave, it was listed as a 57 Chevy truck radiator on ebay. I just got the measurements from the page and compared to what I thought I needed and it worked quite well. For what it's worth, it was listed as an Autoparts100 radiator. Made in China, no doubt.

No, dead right there! I checked after I posted the thread and saw how it came from the factory, so I needn't have posted. It sits lower than the original by a decent margin.
D'oh!
