2002 Navigator, Multiple Codes

History: electrical drain for several years. batter will die after about 1 week if I don't run it. Several times I have had to charge it. Most all others things working okay.

NOW for current issue.

At present, my gas gauge on 2002 navigator does not work. Here's how it started.
1. Start Engine- all gauges working...3 secs later, a muffled sound is heard from under hood ( I think) and all gauges stop working.
2. After about 3 seconds all gauges come back on except gas gauge.
Next day...
1. Start Engine-all gauges working including gas gauge
2. Drive for about 2 minutes and gas gauges stops working

today
1. Start Engine - all gauges work except gas gauge.

Pulled codes: P0460; c1284; B1202; B1313

I cleared codes today and will recheck them tomorrow.

Two auto shops wanted to:
1: First Shop...replace gas sending unit in gas tank $900-$1000
2 Second Shop...too many codes...don't know where to start. But sounds like short in Dashboard cluster. Could cost $900-$1000 to find out and replace.

So, I am here, asking for help.

Thanks

Change the battery saver relay and see if one or more of the problems clear up.

Well you do have fault codes for both the fuel sender and the battery saver relay...

I replaced the Battery Saver Relay and the gas gauge still does not work. I am down to two possibilities and either ones of them is costly.

Either the Instrument Cluster or:

1. Poor electrical connection at the fuel level sending unit or the unit itself is bad.

What I don 't understand, is why did all gauges stop working for 2-3 seconds after I started it a couple days ago and all started working again after a few seconds, except the gas gauge.?

I need some ideas.

Thanks
