Trouble Codes from SnapOn Code Reader

My SG-II Diagnostic Trouble Code Count (DTC) readout =3
(No Check Gauge Lamp), but SnapOn readout =4.

1. P006A - MAP - Mass Or Volume Air Flow Correlation (Bank 1).

2. P0401 - EGR Insufficient Flow Detected.

3. P0603 - Internal Control Module KAM Error.

4. P123B - Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control A Performance.

Codes cleared by SnapOn.

Upon departing shop, DTC = 1 (don't know which) - will test drive further & read again in a couple of days.

#1: Map sensor has been replaced, hose/nipple is clear.
Boost readout seems accurate - but unable to get above 20 - next up: inspect all cac boots (Turbo hot-side had small rip, replaced - possible cause of code?).
MAF sensor has been sprayed with CRC MAF cleaner. Area quite clean, barely noticeable dust - wire looked OK - air filter input slightly dusty, filter minder at 0%.

#2: EGR valve suspect, will order a new one.

#3: Probably due to PCM/VGT Re-learn procedure (batteries disconnected).

#4: Unable to locate info on this one.
VGT Duty Cycle % (VGT) = 0, 64, 32 (@wot/80mph).

As I understand it, PCM constantly monitors multiple parameters and sends out appropriate control signals to fuel, turbo, tranny, etc.
If ANY parameter is out of specs, PCM will only allow Limited Mode until problem & code is cleared. That sound correct??

Any thoughts on:
Code #4 ??
Low Boost ??
Anything I've missed ??

Is the #4 code actually P132b?

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post14413619

Try this post by Bismic for more info on the code. Also, the P0401 can be related.

Have you cleaned the EGR valve?

Both Codes #1 and #4 end with an alphabet character - I wonder if these are unique to SnapOn, as I cannot find either Anywhere.

I partially cleaned the nearly clean EGR: in that (at the time) I didn't know how to open the dual seats for cleaning & didn't clean the manifold port per instructions I obtained later.

EGR readouts rather confusing/inconsistent. More often than not, Measured % will drop to 0 (when Desired is still varying 4-12). Also, EGR Valve Pos Volts will read 0 or 1, nothing else. I'm inputting the following #'s:
07E022167E 04620516067E 3010 000133330000

I've not done anything with Intake Air Temp #2, readout consistent with others.

I did note that upon removal of EGR valve, intake manifold had minor sooting, no wet. (Not losing coolant anywhere).

ECT/EOT spread usually within 10* (except under extreme load/hills, towing)

It appears that SGII and newish scanners contain and updated code base.
The letter codes did not come out until 07, I have a copy of an 07 code base not for public release. [Don't ask]
My own scanners code base does not contain codes later than 05 and it has no letter codes.

You just had to say [Don't ask] so now I have to ask.

Fix your p006a and your p132b first. They both will set egr codes.

If only I knew How.....

Presently, all codes were cleared - but one is showing again in SG-II (won't find out which one until Thursday).
I'll see if any codes return. Hopefully, the ones you mention will not.

Actions I've taken lately:
Replaced leaking CAC boot, Cleaned EGR valve & MAF sensor, swapped out MAP sensor, VGT Relearn procedure. Cleared codes.

Still have WOT issue, hopefully due to remaining unk DTC.

Does the PCM go into Restricted Mode if any Code is thrown/uncleared??

P006a is a correlation condition. It can be from ebp, map or baro. Thats what you need to chase, after that if the 132b comes back its either a boost leak or a stuck turbo.
That would be my guess.

Maybe I just don't get it. My interpretation of "Inferred" is virtual, not reality.

SG-II will not read EBP. I have been told this is normal, as it was "removed from the strategy" by a PCM reflash years ago.

Is the EBP sensor/pipe still a factor, or not ??

Beyond that, don't I just need MAP & BARO to be in close proximity ?? They are within 0.1 of each other.

I think they call that Alpha testing. I still have Win 95 Alpha disks here somewhere.

Yes and no. It is true on early build trucks it is infered. The new pid is ebpg.
If the sensor is shorted it will create random issues from no start to p006a
